Charleston

Forgot to write about what an enchanting city Charleston is!! We had a day off there and enjoyed the great food and wonderful scenery. Lots of history stretching back to pre-revolutionary times. Some of the most stupendous antebellum homes I've ever seen. I highly recommend anyone to visit some time. Go for a run in the battery! Show was a hot '73 with ridiculous long set list.

  1. Hey Rob, WOW! Wish I was there. You all FU#$in ROCK! We sure miss ya. MMMmm..73 I was 2 YO. :) Speaking of the historical historical places we go on this lifelong Dead trip and just reading Rob K's virgin blog, I figured I tell ya about a place in Birmingham, AL as ya'll be there tommorra. It's the Alabama Jazz Hall of fame in in the Civil Rights District. There web-site says “The Exhibits convey the accomplishments of the likes of Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton and Erskine Hawkins and the music that made them famous. Within this fine musical collection, visitors travel from the beginnings of boogie woogie with Clarence "Pinetop" Smith to the jazz space journeys of Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Space Arkestra.” Never been there, but seems like worth checking out to me. Here's a link if ya want:

Also, as it is in the Civil Rights District, and if you have time and/or desire to hit either, the Civil Rights Museum is very close too. I have been there and WOW some heavy hitting shit. Worth checking out.

Anyhow, See you all soon, And if you're still reading (WOW) and can I get a cheap request in if you play original at Mexicali. It would mean the world to me to hear “I will take you home” or “Blow Away” as Marissa and I are going together and I really miss her. Those tunes have really been striking a cord lately for me anyway.

    Peace, Lenny (H.W.A)
